Project priorities:

1. In order to extend our information basis and enhance accessibility:
• We operate a biweekly updated interactive homepage (newsletter, on-line reference service, RSS, on-line desiderata, book offer) where we develop an independent section for our public education partners.
• Our homepage will be available in English and German as well so that foreign students and specialists could also use it.
• We will have software development and data processing made that will enable us to join MOKKA (Common Hungarian National Catalogue).

2. In order to develop our users’ digital information searching knowledge and techniques
• We regulary offer opportunities for library user courses to achieve the conditions for more conscious and efficient library use.
• For college students we have launched a program “Let’s learn together” where we introduce the use of special databases accessible through library services and the ways of the use of search on the internet .
• Our librarians participate in general and special language courses to enhance the more efficient use of international information resources.
• We compile leaflets, on-line manuals that help users participating in library usage training and help with the work of readres using on-line services.

3. In order to develop skills to select information
• we organize youth programmes to intensify the experience of reading and to educate young people to become readers. Thus we can contribute to the skills required for life-long learning while they get acquainted with reading.
• we elaborate generative programmes for kindergarden, primary school and college age groups.
• within the programme “Read with your children, to your children, for your children!” we hold training for the age group 3-8 every second week when we playfully analyse texts to provide reading experience for them and give information on the facilities offered by the libraries.
• every second week the programme “Conquer the empire of the books!” aimed at young teenagers develops information selection skills and reading comprehension.
• On a monthly basis we organize campaigns combined with quizes for college students - “Read to become an intellectual!” -  to make reading more popular.

4. To give a firm basis for the programme
• we survey the reading habits and reading comprehension skills of the target groups.

5. To popularize the results of the programme
• we organize elective courses involving librarians and pedagogy students who can benefit from these experiences in their work in the future.
•  we ensure publicity via our webpage and the press.

Collaboration with partner institutions:
• During our annual training session we acquaint the librarian teachers of the partner institutions with the special databases as part of professional collaboration.
• We undertake the coordination of library services helping the work of teachers with the help of our librarian teachers and via our webpage.
• On our webpage there is a section for school children where we can involve the participants of public education as well.
•  The library stock of our practice institution will be processed in our integrated library system.
